Day Trips in Costa Brava

We are happy to recommend a few day trips in the Costa Brava to see the surrounding countryside, visit museums or enjoy some cultural activities.

In the town of Figueres you can visit the Salvador Dali Museum and see some of his artwork and jewellery design. The building in itself is quite spectacular and stands out in this small city. The museum is open year round but during the low season closes on certain days. From June to September it opens 7 days a week and in the month of August there are also night visits available. For more information on the museum and its opening times please see the Salvador Dali Museum website.

Another up and coming activity is to try wine tasting in the Costa Brava in some of the local vineyards or bodegas. Within the Costa Brava is the D.O Empordà Costa-Brava wine region. With just over 3,000 hectares of land, wine has been produced here since 5 B.C but over the last few years has earned a reputation for planting local and international varieties. The D.O Empordà Costa-Brava has never been one of Spain´s most famous wine regions but the exciting wines being made here in the last few years aim to change that. The combination of seascape and rural countryside make Empordà-Costa Brava one of the loveliest wine regions in Spain. For more information on wine tasting in the Costa Brava see the DO Empordà website. Alternatively here are two of the regions vineyards that offer wine tours and tasting, Masia Serra or Vinícola del Nordest

Water parks in Costa Brava

For a fun day out with the kids why not try some of the local water parks in the Costa Brava. In Playa de Aro there is the Aquadiver Waterpark  which is open from the 9th June to the 11th of September 2014.  Its´ sister park Waterworld is located in Lloret de Mar and is open a little earlier, from the 13th May to 15th of September 2014.

Water sports in Costa Brava

There is ample opportunity to enjoy water sports in the Costa Brava while on holiday in Playa de Aro. From scuba diving to kayaking, snorkeling to sailing the Costa Brava has them all.
Playa de Aro has a beautiful marina that is well worth a visit whether you´re a water sports fan or not. Along the marina you´ll find various companies offering water sports activities, for example the Playa de Aro Nautical Club offers sailing courses for children and adults alike.
